Hair Cut

My hair has been driving me nuts for quite a while now so I finally decided that I would cut about 6" off. Here is the before...

And here is the after... only... she cut way more than 6" off. I'm not a big fan. Every where we went after I got it cut off, we saw people with pretty long hair and it made me miss mine. Maybe after I am able to dry it (she didn't dry it for me, she let it air dry which made it look all bumpy which I hate) I will like it better. Who knows, maybe I'll even be able to curl it for once. We'll see I guess!

Burned by coffee...

So... on Wednesday I decided it would be a good idea to take a cup of coffee to work as well as drink a cup on my way out the door. As I was trying to change the channel on the TV for the dogs (we leave it on so they can keep up to date on the news and such) I spilled the boiling hot coffee on my wrist. I was wearing a sweatshirt at the time, so it took a few moments for me to realize that I was being burned, and then a few more moments to figure out how to get my sweatshirt off so it would quit buring me. Not one of my finer moments. So above is the picture I took at the end of the day on Wednesday after most of the red swolleness had gone away. And below is what it looks like today, day 3. It was fine until yesterday when Keeto bit my wrist (he plays when we try to get his harness on to go outside) and it broke open the blister. So now it hurts again. Lovely isn't it?

Homesick

So, I'm homesick. Big surprise. I've been living here in CA for almost a year now and it still hasn't grown on me. I don't see how things can be so different. Sometimes I feel like we are in a different country. It's so very strange to me.

I miss MONTANA!

I miss my family.

I miss my friends.

I miss complete strangers saying hello when you pass them on the street.

I miss snow. Especially at times like Christmas.

I miss chilly nights and hot cocoa.

I miss seeing my breath in the air.

I miss mittens and scarfs and cold red noses.

I miss driving for hours and not seeing another car.

I miss dirt roads.

I miss writing in the frost on the glass window of the car when it's cold outside.

I miss plugging in the car so it will start in the morning.

I miss beauty.

I miss fresh clean air.

I miss the smell after a rain storm.

I miss sky that goes on forever.

I miss the smell of pine trees.

I miss the colorful changing of the seasons.

I miss camping in the middle of July and still having to bring hats and gloves because it just might snow.

I miss REAL smore's.

I miss feeling safe.

I miss being able to walk to the store alone.

I miss not worrying about driving into the wrong part of town.

I miss 'rush hour' meaning there are more than 4 cars stopped at the light.

I miss lighting fireworks.

I miss leaving my doors unlocked.

I miss the dew on everything first thing in the morning.

I miss job safety.

I miss no sales tax.

I miss being in college.

I miss cheap rent.

I miss trusting people.

I miss seeing stars.
I miss mountains.
I miss lemondaid stands and bake sales.
Basicly... I miss everything. I'm ready to come home.

My boys!

So I had these pictures of my boys that I just had to put up. Hunter-J doesn't like his picture taken, so its rare to have a photo of him. Then there is Keeto who just loves to ham it up for the camera.

Old Town - San Diego, CA

We took a trip to Old Town in San Diego last weekend with Casey and Roland. It was really fun. it's the oldest part of San Diego.

We went on a good day because they were having an artist weekend so the streets were all blocked off with all sorts of vendors. We visited a haunted place called the Whaley House and then took the trolley all over the city.

I got to play around with my new camera a little bit and even chased a squirel up a palm tree. So all in all it was a super day!

Next we need to take a trip to Balboa park.

Me trying to be a photographer with my new camera! :)

First Timer!

So I thought that I would try and become a blogger... we'll see how it goes. Maybe Pat and I will be able to keep everyone updated on our lives and such. It's about bedtime now, so I'll have to spend more time on here tomorrow!
